On July 22nd our one year old Yorke, Zoom, jumped off a bed and broke his back right leg. He wore a splint for 6 weeks – we took him to get it changed every two weeks. Between my 3 kids and I – he was never left alone – but when we took him to get the splint off, we were told his leg was worse and he lost bone. That because his leg is so small there wasn’t room for an implant and so his little leg was amputated. He has been amazing and maybe because he’s so little – he still zooms and does great!

Yes, often amputation ends up being the “solution” when broken leg recovery fails. So glad he is past recovery and living life to the fullest!

Thanks! He’s been amazing and so have my kids. I still get a little sad but I just love the little guy so much! Sometimes I think he struggles and he looses his balance and he gets frustrated. He also growls a lot more now. But he’s just recently started playing again with our other dog like they used to so I’m so happy about that!
